A Thank You Note From Our 2017 "Kendra Ogletree Cusaac Outstanding Psychology Teacher of the Year Award" Winner:

Dear SCPA Friends,

Thank you for this teaching award. Unfortunately, I was so taken aback and
moved at the conference lunch, that I found myself relatively inarticulate.
I thought I would send this photo along as a visual on how the students know
me on campus: as the psych professor with the red boots. I called them my
"ruby red slippers", shabby though they are. Teaching has become a real joy
for me and perhaps that is why the students have such sweet feedback.
Thank you again for this and it is truly an honor!

Student Poster Competition:

The South Carolina Psychological Association is pleased to announce the call for submissions for the Student Poster Competition at its 2017 Annual Convention in Myrtle Beach.  Posters will be judged on professionalism and the soundness of their theoretical rationale, method, and conclusions.  1st place ($75), 2nd place ($50), and 3rd place ($25). Prizes will be awarded in the graduate and undergraduate categories.

We encourage submissions related to any area in psychology.  The proposal submission receipt deadline is 5:00pm on Wednesday, March 1.

Student Posters are in a format that allows for extended discussion of the presentation with the author.  They use illustrative materials placed on a poster (maximum 4' x 4') with tables, graphs, and data.  Presenters must make sure their posters do not exceed the 4x4 dimensions and will need to bring their own trifold display board and push pins.

**Each student listed as a presenter must register for the Convention.**

Submission Requirements:

Submissions for the Student Poster Competition can be made by selecting the "NEXT" button at the end of this page.

Completing the proposal form will require:

  1. names and institutional affiliations of all student presenters
  2. whether presenters are graduate or undergraduate students
  3. the name and institutional affiliation of the faculty advisor for the research
  4. email contact information for student presenters
  5. a 300-500 word summary- The summary should provide the Program Committee with a clear overview of the material to be presented.  The text of the summary should include a statement of the problem, participants, procedure, results, and conclusions.
